A good Samaritan who helped push three people out of the path of a pickup truck before being struck and injured has gotten a strange reward for his good deed: A jaywalking ticket. Let's look at this one closely - a person who foresaw an accident that would have been deadly, took action and saved three lives. As a result, he received a jaywalking ticket. Why? Because he jaywalked. Also, he was severely injured - he suffered bleeding in the brain, broken bones, a dislocated shoulder and a possible ruptured spleen. The police need to back off this one. Here's the story.

DADDY WAKES UP BABY
Usually it's the baby that wakes up the parents but in this funny video it's the parent that wakes up the baby! I thought this was very funny and cute. Sweet little baby gets scared of her Daddy's snoring! Enjoy!

MICROSOFT'S MISTAKE
I'm a big Microsoft fan and especially a fan of Bill Gates. But this young man in the picture here is not. And for good reason. Microsoft laid off some workers and gave them a severance package. There was just one problem - the severances were calculated incorrectly and Microsoft wrote a letter to these ex-employees asking for the money back. They were paid too much in their severance checks. What to do, what to do? I don't think I would urinate on their corporate sign....a little illegal. But would I send the money back? What would you do?

MEGA BRAND GAMES
Believe it or not, having the "right" toys and games for your children to play with is critical. Some would say there is no such thing as a wrong toy or game but in reality there is. There are toys and games that stifle creativity and then there are toys and games that actually encourage and foster it. MagNext toys are that kind.
MEGA Brands has dedicated itself to creating and producing quality toys and games that stimulate creativity and interest in kids. Their games are very popular with by children of all ages. I entered the MagNext Virtual arena and began to play the games. This is a high tech place in space built for riding n' racing. These are perfect for kids as they teach you to strategize, plan and design in addition to just plain playing around. You can register and create a character or just be a perpetual guest. All said, it is free to play. And one more exciting feature is that you can play with friends or with anyone from around the world.
MEGA Brands has created a virtual playground suitable for kids of any age and even more importantly it is a safe and free place to play games. Likewise, the games themselves involve skill and luck which keeps the excitement level high. Be sure to click the above link and check the games for your self. Let your kids watch and even join in the fun!

RECORD DRIVING TEST FAILINGS
A woman in South Korea who has taken the written exam required for a driver's license nearly every day since 2005 has failed again — but is hoping attempt No. 772 will be the charm. The 68-year-old has spent $3,000 on fees for the test.... This story amazes me because the woman is ignoring her failures and trying again and again (and again). She definitely has tenacity and persistence, but what she needs is a tutor! Good luck to her and here is the story.

HOME ECONOMICS 101
We, quite honestly, live in some uncertain times. There are people comparing this time period to the Great Depression but they are quite wrong. We are not close to a depression but the economy is slipping into a recession and inflation will follow. This means a lot for large corporations, medium sized businesses and small businesses. Extra careful business planning needs to take place to be able to survive. But what about the consumer? Rule number 1 - make sure your economy at home is right, and you will weather this storm better than others. Personal finance is so important and that includes a variety of issues such as:
- Personal Debt (credit card, car loans, etc...)
- Home Mortgage
- Savings
- Retirement Planning
There are certainly more topics but these are the main issues facing consumers today. And right now the statistics show that many consumers are in big trouble. Many are in debt way over their heads, many have lost their jobs, many have lost their homes and many don't know what to do. But the good news is that there is help. There are a number of financial assistance options available but there is one that is more reputable and get results better than others and that is CareOne Credit Counseling.
CareOne Credit Counseling can help consumers in a variety of ways. They can counsel consumers on debt management, debt relief, debt consolidation and much more. One of the reasons consumers get into trouble is they don't have a budget. Or they may have a budget and not stick to it. Here is an excellent article on budgeting. It is the single key to financial discipline and making certain your home economy is on track.
CareOne is an excellent site with valuable information, advice and tools for the consumer who needs financial education and even some financial help. Be sure to click either of the above links and have access to the tools you need to get the financial information and help you need.

BEACHED DOLPHINS IN MANILA BAY
More than 200 dolphins have beached themselves on Manila Bay, officials in the Philippines said Tuesday as they tried to work out why the marine mammals had come ashore. Residents saw huge pods of dolphins near the towns of Pilar and Abucay on the Bataan peninsula west of Manila. Many think they were scared toward land by and underwater earthquake or a heat wave of sorts. Here's the rest of the story.

I LOVE A GOOD MYSTERY
I have always been a mystery fan. A mystery is like an unsolved puzzle or riddle. I like to exercise some brain power to solve mysteries and figure things out. Whether it is a real life mystery or a mystery movie or book, I love the challenge and excitement of a good mystery. That's why I was excited to find a website tailored to my love for mysteries called 5 Minute Mystery. This site, featured on ABC News, makes mystery solving even more fun by making it into a game. They supply you with a fun, short 5 minute mystery, Monday and Friday for you to solve. There are diverse mystery topics such as pets, history, geography, sports, murder with a range of difficulties.

EVANGELIZING THIEVES
Police in Nashville, TN said two young burglars covered their intent by talking about religion. Police arrested a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old and charged them with aggravated burglary. The Tennessean reported the teens were going through a neighborhood, knocking on doors while carrying church bulletins. How clever - pretend to be religious in order to steal from you. We have plenty of people knock on our door, both religious and non-religious related. This story is just another reason to be ever so careful in answering your door. You never know who it might be. Here's the story.

FOREVER STAMPS
Postage is about to rise again. Currently at 42 cents each, they will rise another 2 cents to .44/stamp on May 11. Looking at the chart, I found it interesting that stamp prices were level for a while but have been sharply on the rise since the 70's. Oh well, guess how the post offices make money? They sell stamps...so it follows that they will raise prices just like any other retailer to stay in business.
But did you know that...........there are "forever" stamps. These are stamps which will continue to sell at the current 42-cent rate until the increase occurs......then they will remain valid in the future regardless of rate hikes. Buy 1000 of them now, and after the rate hike they are still good. And you don't have to buy those silly 2 cent stamps. Interested? Here's the story.

FILE EXTENSION LIBRARY
Everyone is probably familiar with file extensions. In the name picture.jpg, jpg is the file extension. Easy enough - but did you know there are tons and tons of file extensions? Have you heard of .3g2, .bup, .gz, .ctt, .iso, .rar or .pf? These are all file extensions - their function is to tell the computer what the file type is and what is to be done with the file when it is opened or double-clicked. And there is, thankfully, a website that can help us understand and track file extensions. It is called File Extension Library. It is exactly what the title suggests, a library of file extensions. Their site also helps locate and repair manifest errors. Filled with helpful and critical information for novices and pros alike, File Extension Library is a comprehensive and useful site for everyone. Just click the above link and check out their website today!

WEB HOSTING COMPARISONS
Many bloggers and website owners are looking for a good web hosting company. Rather than using the free hosting that is often available but limited, many choose to link their domain up to a quality web host where the capabilities are more vast. The only question is which host is the best for your blog or website.

MASSIVE PEANUT RECALL
We have all heard about the peanut recall and to the embarrassment of Georgians, the source is right here in our state. I am ashamed to say that a peanut company in southern Georgia was found to be the source of the recent poisonings and to make matters worse, the president of the company ordered the sale of tainted peanut butter KNOWING that it contained salmonella. Now company plants in other states (Texas being the most recent) are beginning to recall their peanut products as well. Sad.

CPA AND AFFILIATE PROGRAMS
Making money on the web is challenging but there are a number of websites that make it easier than you think. One of the best websites is called OfferVault. This website is unique in that is offers a comprehensive and comparison oriented look at over 10,000 different affiliate and CPA programs through 25 different networks.
CPA Networks and affiliate programs are the most popular ways of earning an online income. OfferVault gives you the opportunity to compare and contrast each program based on the criteria you desire. For example, if you are looking for affiliate or CPA programs for movies, you can enter that criteria and be shown a list of programs for earning money relating to movies. Each comparison shows a lead payout, sale payout and which network it is linked to. This makes it easy to see which programs suit your needs the best.
I would recommend OfferVault to anyone trying to earn an income online. Even for bloggers it makes sense to have affiliate banners or links as a way to monetize your site. Just click the above link and see for yourself all the different programs and networks available through OfferVault.

10 MOST MISERABLE CITIES
I don't know why but I am intrigued by lists. They are subjective and at the descretion of the list maker but fun to read none-the-less. Here is an interesting list that I happen to agree with - the 10 most miserable cities in the US. Based on many factors you can read yourself, here it is:
- Stockton, CA
- Memphis, TN
- Chicago, IL
- Cleveland, OH
- Modesto, CA
- Flint, MI
- Detroit, MI
- Buffalo, NY
- Miami, FL
- St Louis, MO
Here's the story.

10 YEAR OLD COMMITS SUICIDE?
Child welfare officials say they're investigating neglect allegations against a suburban Chicago school where a 10-year-old boy was apparently found hanged in a bathroom. Here is what I don't understand - the authorities have ruled his death a suicide! WHAT???? How does a 10 year old boy hang himself - how does he hate life so much (at age 10) to want to kill himself - how does a 10 year old figure out a way to hang himself - did he even know how to spell suicide?

MOM COOKS ME IN AN OVEN
"Mom cooks me like a turkey in the oven," the little four year old girl told police. Police near Detroit stumbled onto the graphic allegations of burnings, beatings and torture after the girl's mother phoned police Jan. 23 and confessed to "harming her children."
This is one of those stories you just have to read twice to be sure you really read everything correctly. This mother actually put her little girl in a pan and put her in the oven. The girl said, "I felt the fire. It burned my back," And, "She hurts me with a screwdriver all the time." Everyone waive bye-bye to this mommy who is going to prison for life! Here's the whole story.

BILL GATES, MOSQUITO'S AND A TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
He's one of my favorite businessmen and as of late, Bill Gates is more and more involved with his charitable causes than he is with Microsoft. The picture you see here is Bill Gates opening a jar filled with mosquitoes and as he is opening the jar, here is what he said, "Malaria is spread by mosquitoes....I brought some. Here, I’ll let them roam around – there is no reason only poor people should be infected.’ You can imagine the response from his audience. Pointed taken Bill - here's the rest of the story.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Hair Removal Videos Facial Hair Removal
I know many women and even some men have considered facial hair removal. It can be not so much a thing of vanity as it is an avenue to alleviate embarrassment. Men and women both struggle with unwanted body hair and laser removal can be the answer. Laser hair removal is one of the top five non-surgical procedures for both men and women in the United States and the techniques are becoming more and more high-tech and accessible.

GIRL DIES IN WASHING MACHINE
Authorities say a 4-year-old girl died after she climbed into a washing machine and her little brother switched it on. Sheriff's officials say Kayley Ishii apparently climbed into the front-loading washer and her 15-month-old brother managed to start the device. The story goes on to say that the mother found her in the washing machine after she was in there for two minutes. Can you imagine the little brother growing up and understanding that his actions killed his sister? Sad. Here's the story.
