50 CENTS?

Many are wondering what is happening to Pay Per Post and Social Spark. Suddenly everything is 200 words for $5.00. And now, today, we have post offers for 50 cents? I saw one today for $1.50. So what gives?

Actually it's not what you think. Put yourself in the position of the advertiser. Times are tough so you need to cut back. But do you cut back on a $15 payout to a blogger or do you cut back on the $5000 billboard or the $100,000 television commercial? Advertisers are cutting back on their bigger spending but the small to medium sized businesses are cutting back on almost everything. Who are the customers of PPP and SS? Most of them are the small to medium sized businesses or the new business start-ups looking for buzz. As a result, we have less opportunities for good money. So what's in the future?

Like it or not, we will be seeing more 50 cent offers, $1.50 offers and yes, more 200 words for $5.00 offers. We also should remember that advertisers will go where the value is.........if your posts are quality and you follow the guidelines, when times get better they just might come back to PPP and SS. If your posts are filled with bad grammar, improper English and lack a sense of savvy about the content, they will be content with another form of advertising and leave bloggers alone.

Now is the time to give quality 50 cent posts.......just for now. If your time is better spent elsewhere then do so. But he who is faithful in the little things, will be entrusted to things that are bigger. The reality is that blogging opportunities for good money are mostly (but not entirely) gone for the moment. We can either complain and watch nothing happen or be faithful. Hang in there fellow bloggers as we are in the middle of a storm but if you handle it well, then you will get to experience the winds subsiding and the sun coming out again.

i would rather spend time with my little boy than doing 200 words for 50 cents, that amount is not even enough to buy one kilo of rice in phils, i feel sad for those bloggers who grabbed that low amount of opps.

I was surprised to see these offers too. I said to myself maybe it was just an error. They actually have several opps for PR2 for $6.75 for 200 words. I am just lazy to grab them LOL, but you know what, I might grab this 50 cents opps.. :)

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

i think the 50 cents offer per opp is an insult. i think bloggers should unite and not take opportunities priced as such.

I was surprised too to see the less than 2 dollar offers.

Nonetheless, I checked the available opp, which was fifty cents. The task was easy - register to the advertiser's site, link it and hotlink a picture. No blogpost was required. So, I took it.

The trend is very alarming. Last year, the opps were scarce. And, this year, the offers are too low.

i have read from the forum that this is just an experiment. so if people grab 50 cent opps... and this scheme works, then they will permanently offer 50 cents. it's just sad that people are desperate enough to grab. it's no help at all in the long run.

Sound like either way bloggers still complain. If you want to take the opps then write about it no matter what prices it is. If you don't to take those low prices opps then don't stop whining.

i do not do ppp or social spark, though i am planning to but i have no time to open another site, at least it is nice to know i can do it when i have more free time. right now, i just blog at Today and we are not allowed to do PPP or SP but they do pay us $1 per post, but the one we post is something that we like to talk about, like for me, hiking and nature. They pay us also for unique visits, not a lot, really, I know PPP earns a lot more, but since I really would like to blog about the outdoors, I did it. Maybe some day, I will open another blog to do PPP and it will be back to $5 minimum? :)

I haven't been writing with triple P lately despite offers of $5 for 200 words, so it's a given that I won't grab 50 cents for same number of words. But I don't have anything against bloggers who grab these kind of offers too. Afterall, a buck wont be whole without 50 cents!

Anyway, Deb thanks for the sponsorship, I will take them, LOL. I will post the preview tomorrow, stay tuned!
