The Midwest has always had a special place in my heart and the reasons are many. But one of the main reasons is the atmosphere created by the beauty of the land and the goodness of the people. One of my favorite places in the Midwest is Branson, Missouri. Branson is an entertainment capital in the Midwest and has a lot to offer both young and old. They have a variety of shows that include magicians, rock 'n' roll, country, family harmonies, comedy, variety, dinner shows, gospel, and well-known performers that make appearances. Also, it is little known that Branson, Missouri has more theater seats than Broadway. And right now during the holidays it is the perfect time to visit.
The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel have special packages they have put together just for this season. Whether you want to play miniature golf, enjoy go-carts, water parks, and history museums, you can do it all while staying in Branson. You can see the Titanic and even stop at the famous College of the Ozarks. It's a beautiful part of the country that has so much to offer. You will enjoy the spirit of the holidays with light displays, shows, parades, and the old time charm of Branson. Then at night you can retire in the luxury and comfort of either the Hilton Promenade or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. I would encourage you to click on any of the above links and discover for yourself the beauty of Branson.

DAD CHARGED WITH MURDER
The father of an 11-year-old girl who died, likely of hypothermia, after trying to walk 10 miles in the snow on Christmas Day has been charged with second-degree murder and felony injury to a child. Before you condemn the father, it would be worth reading the whole article.......then you can condemn the father. This is an example of such poor parenting and now the damage is done. Picture a snow storm in Idaho.....wind, snow, freezing cold weather..........sad. Here's the story.

WINNEBAGO MOTORHOMES
This is the time of year you see tons of recreational vehicles on the interstates. Many are migrating to the South for the Winter. Families, retired couples and friends are among those who choose to travel using a motor home. They are big and they are beautiful and make vacationing easy going from site to site. And at Altmans.com, they have a large and beautiful selection of motor homes, recreational vehicles. Their impressive list includes the following:
- Winnebago
- Damon Motor Coach
- Tetron Homes
- THOR California
- Gulf Stream
And they have many more such as the 2006 Winnebago Sightseer. Altmans proudly features Winnebago brand products. They are, by far, the best value in Winnebago Motorhomes on the market today. And they computer price their motor homes as would a factory outlet, giving them a well below market sticker price. But the experience doesn't stop there. Long after the sale you will still have the support staff at Atlmans waiting to serve you should you need any of their services. As a side note, if you are not interested in buying a motor home, they also rent them from their fleet.
If you are in the market for a recreational vehicle or just thinking about it, then click the above link and be taken to Altman's website where you will see a large selection of quality RV's at the best prices (right now they have special Internet pricing) and most of all........the best customer service anywhere. Check out their website today!

THAT'S ONE BIG BABY!!
Doctors at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, Calif. couldn't believe their eyes when they took a gander at the baby in the womb of Sara Sault. In fact, it took two of them to lift up 14-pound, 2-ounce Richard Walker Sault during the C-section. 14 POUNDS!! OUCH!! Even though it was a c-section delivery I am certain the mother was totally uncomfortable and READY to give birth. Check out the story here.

EDUCATION THE BRIGHTSTORM WAY
Do you have or know someone who has a child in middle or high school? Most everyone does and we all know that school is not the same as it was for us. Our students are more challenged and even more stressed about their performance in school. Subjects are taught earlier and so more is expected. As a result, students are turning for help in the form of tutors and other ways to give them an edge and a boost to perform well in school. And one particular educational program online that can really help as well is a program called Brightstorm.
Brightstorm is an online educational website devoted to one thing - providing courses for high schoolers (and middle schoolers) to facilitate their learning of a particular subject. And right now you are able to Sign up for a free brightstorm acocunt by clicking on this link. You will be taken to their website and by simply following the instructions, you will be able to sign up for free. The course I chose to review was a history course called The Foundation of Your Rights. There is no way to disconnect the present from the past and that is why history is so very important. Politically and economically it is the foundation and the undergirding of our society. The course is organized to take you through US history through the usage of different media as well as contemporary illustrations. It makes the course no only fun and interesting, but effective. Sign up for a free account now and take advantage of this great offer. It's an effectiveness way of learning, a great value, it's a fun and enjoyable technique of learning and the content and presentation of the material is very professional. Simply click any of the above links and you will be taken to the Brightstorm website where you will find educational courses that are sure to enhance the learning experience of any high schooler.

DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING DISCOUNTED
The above is a video about an incredible product. Please watch the video and think about the possibilities. Dragon Naturally Speaking is voice recognition software that types what you say. It recognizes not only your voice, but adapts to your accent as well. Just think about how fast you can complete a blog entry with this software or dictate an article or simply record your ideas or notes for business as you travel. Think about how quickly you can generate content on screen versus how quickly you can type. Sometimes my brain goes faster than my fingers and this software is a perfect solution. Dragon is used at my husband's place of employment. They use it for medical dictation and integrate it with their practice management software. This allows for quicker dictation enabling the doctors to see more patients. And right now they have many specials running including $50 Coupon Code- DNSMSBG -Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred.
The following are additional specials running currently until the end of the year, December 31, 2008 which means if you are a business, you can still write it off for 2008 taxes.
- $50 Coupon Code- DNSMSBG -Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred
- $25 Coupon Code- DNSMSBG -Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Standard
- $25 Coupon Code- DNSMSBG -MacSpeech Dictate
I can see the advantages of this software as well if you are a business person needing to dictate notes and letters as you are travelling. Dragon can do the job much faster saving both time and money. You get quicker results than typing and even more accurate. Just think how many posts you can create in a fast, more efficient manner. By 'more efficient' I mean no more misspelled words! It does that for you!
When you click on any of the links in this post you will be able to read reviews and what others say about this great product. You will also be able to take Dragon’s typing speed test. Dragon promises up to 99% accuracy. This software is worth checking into - at the very least, check out the above video and click on the above links to learn more. You are sure to be impressed!!

BE A HERO
Christmas is a tough time of year for many people but most especially for the families of those in the military. Being away from family serving your country is a noble and heroic thing but it doesn't replace the longing of missing your loved ones back home. That's why Sears has come up with a great program to help the families of those in the military. Here's our chance to be heroes at home for them. ANOTHER ATTACK IN THE PHILIPPINES
Two crude bombs packed with nails exploded minutes apart Thursday at a department store and a nearby clothing shop packed with Christmas shoppers in Iligan, a city in the southern Philippines, killing two people and wounding 48. This happened about a week ago and your guess is as good as mine...........more Abu Sayyaf. Here's a quote from Gloria, "The government will not stop hunting these terrorists until they are put behind bars." Thanks, I feel better now. Here's the story.

GETTING OUT OF DEBT
Now is the time of year people forget about all the rules of using debt and run up big credit card bills. It's Christmas and we love giving gifts, even if it means going deeper into debt. We worry about paying it off later. Even though those credit payments take away from our disposable income, sometimes to the point where we have trouble making all of our other payment obligations. That's when we get into trouble. Now there are a variety of Debt Management Plans out there that promise many things including getting you out of debt fast. But there is one particular program that can truly help get you out of debt faster than you think. Clear Debt offers a program (IVA) that can do the following:
- An IVA will cut the amount you owe (typically by 50% but in some cases by up to 70%)
- An IVA will freeze the interest you pay
- An IVA will legally prevent creditors taking action against you
An IVA or Individual Voluntary Arrangement is a legally binding agreement with your creditors. If you are in debt and are having a hard time making ends meet and desire help with your debt, then click the above link. You will be taken to the Clear Debt website where you will find plenty of debt help and an IVA which may be the answer to your getting out of debt.

MY HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY!!!
It's Dana's birthday! Not today, but tomorrow, December 20! Earlier, we attended a christmas party, went home late, got tired and now, he's in bed sleeping. I got up just to make a short post so when he wakes up in the morning, and go to work, he'll read this post! This will be an early surprise for him, and hopefully this will make him smile and happy.
I want to pour myself out for him and be his everything. In my eyes he is flawless. In my eyes he is beyond gorgeous. In my eyes he brings light and life! In my heart, I am soooooo grateful for him! He brings me what nothing else can and no one else could, real life and real love living deep within my heart, running through the course of my veins spilling over into my very best giving I can possibly do whether it be things, thoughts, words or deeds....it's all because of him, my loving and wonderful husband!
I feel so blessed the man I found was him. When I look at the life we've created - our home, our family, our marriage, I always tell myself how lucky I am that God brought Dana to me. We've shared the same dreams, we've shared the same hopes, the same ideas and thoughts about how to live and raise a family... And through it all, I've come to appreciate him even more! Everyday for the rest of my life, I thank the Lord for him!
Happy Birthday my asawa! You're still young ok? hehe! I told Daniel it will be your birthday very soon and he smiled so wide. He and I are planning something behind the scene, we will make you feel like you are the most important person in the world and the most important person in our lives because...you are! I love you so much Sweetheart!!!

REMEMBERING LEA
We blogged recently about a Fil-Am tragedy where a Filipina was swept out to sea during a marriage proposal. Remember Leafil - also known as Yang-Yang? Here is that post to refresh your memory. Recently on that post we had a comment from someone who was at the scene shortly after it happened and has more of a first hand perspective......here are their comments:

ALL ROADS LEAD HOME
Movie night at our house is usually Friday or Saturday night. We pop popcorn, have plenty of chips and soda and plop ourselves down in front of the TV for a relaxing time. Even though we love horror movies, it is still relaxing to be together and snuggle up to a movie. We also enjoy comedies and suspense filled movies. Many times after a movie is finished, we will just look at each other and our thoughts are the same - "That movie had a horrible ending" or "That movie stunk!" Sometimes it is hard to tell whether a movie will be good or not and then there are times where you just know the movie will be great. And one of those is All Roads Lead Home The Movie.
Sometimes we really crave a movie with a great message, a great theme that makes us feel good. All Roads Lead Home is one of those movies. I would encourage you to watch the above trailer and you will get a taste of what an exciting and meaningful movie this is. The movie is about learning to live again after a family tragedy, it's about growing up, and it's about the importance of animals in our emotional lives. It is truly a family movie in every sense of the word and is appropriate for kids of all ages.
Searching for a great movie on movie night? Then search no further....simply watch the video trailer and click the above link to be taken to the "All Roads Lead Home" website where you can view more scenes and get more details. They even let you pre-order before it's release date. Check out this truly great movie today!

SUPERVISION 101
This video is hilarious - Terry Tate-Office Linebacker brings a little discipline to the office. Managers could learn a thing or two about his style, his approach and his demeanor. If only Wall Street had a few Terry Tates. If only Washington DC had a few Terry Tates. If only the Philippines government had a few Terry Tates.....right? Enjoy!

FREE BLOG PICTURES
Something that adds spice and interest to a blog post are blog pictures. They add a visual to the view that can be both attractive and interesting. One of the problems of using pictures is finding a good and reliable picture host. The best one I have found is called Acobox.com. They collect, screen, and host quality pictures for bloggers. All images are properly licensed, optimized, and ready use with blogs. They make it easy and simple to use.
Here a just a few simple reasons all bloggers should use Acobox:
- A centralized place to go for all of your blog picture needs (no need to search the web for just the right picture)
- No worries about trademark, copyright or licensing issues (they properly license the photo for you)
- You don't have to download the picture because they host the image for you (this makes a world of difference when loading a blog page - the above picture is from Acobox!)
- You don't have to resize the image because you can choose a size that is best for your page (customizable)
- It's free (most importantly)
I would encourage every blogger reading this to click the above link and check out Acobox. This is a tremendous site offering a one-stop shop to get all the photos and pictures you will ever need for your blog.

FINDING ANONYMOUS
Do you ever wish you knew who some of your "anonymous" blog visitors were? There are actually several good reasons to know this. For security purposes in exposing spammers, hackers and other unwanted site visitors, it's important that you watch over who visits your websites and where they are coming from. And there is a way to identify each and every visitor to your website - through the visitor's IP address. Likewise there are a number of software packages that can accomplish this but there is one that really stands out. IP2Location produces software that identifies a visitor's geographical location (ie. country, region, city, latitude, longitude, ZIP code, time zone, connection speed, ISP and domain name, IDD country code, area code, weather station code and name). This is more than enough information you need to protect your blog or website.
The software itself, called IP2Proxy IP-COUNTRY Anonymous Proxy List, is capable of producing a proxy list of IP addresses exposing "anonymous" and their location. While this is easier said than done, it is possible to know information about your unknown visitors and IP2Location is the best software for the job. In fact, we have included the code in our blog so we are able to track and see not only the "known" visitors but those who show up as an Anonymous Proxy as well. If you are reading this and are a webmaster or blog owner, this software is more important than you may realize and by clicking here, you will be able to get more information and even try out the software on a trial basis.

SNAKE EATS CHICKEN
An Australian woman submitted stunning photographs of a python killing and eating a chicken in her Cairns yard to Cairns.com.au on Tuesday. Public relations consultant Sarah Fraser told the site that "never in her wildest dreams" did she expect to see pythons at her home in a residential suburb.
Not that is something you don't see everyday - a snake eating a chicken. It is pretty phenomenal it was all caught on camera and I bet she made some money selling them to Cairns.com. What an experience - here's the story.

WORLDS SMALLEST BOY
Jordanian boy Hazem Hawamdeh walks with his parents near his home in Jerash. Hawamdeh, an 11-year-old boy from the northern city of Jerash, could be the smallest boy in the world, weighing 5.6 kg (12 pounds) with a height of nearly 70 cm (28 inches).
I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw this precious little boy - that he is actually 11 YEARS old and the same height as our 9 MONTH old little boy. It's a mystery as to why he is so underdeveloped but I would have to say he is very precious no matter his height or weight. Here are more pictures.

GIVING BIRTH AT 70??
An Indian woman has given birth to her first child at the age of 70 after receiving IVF treatment. Rajo Devi, who married 50 years ago, gave birth to a baby girl on November 28.
They say you shouldn't bear a child much into your 40's, for sure not 50's or 60's but WOW - in her 70's this Indian woman gave birth. Congratulations to her and good luck - it's hard enough at an early age or in your 30's but imagine chasing after little "Raging Bull" or "Little Miss Sunshine" when you are in your 70's?? More power to her! Here's the story.

YOU CAN BE A SEARS HERO
Christmas is a tough time of year for many people but most especially for the families of those in the military. Being away from family serving your country is a noble and heroic thing but it doesn't replace the longing of missing your loved ones back home. That's why Sears has come up with a great program to help the families of those in the military. Sears established the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry. This provides support to military service members, veterans and their families. Other non-profit organizations have joined in as well to assist in making this the best holiday ever for military personnel and their families. Also, we can help as well.
This is the time of year many think of others and how they can help and by clicking the above link, you will be taken to the Sears Heroes at Home site where you will be able to help in a number of ways. First and foremost, you can donate. It's important to remember that the donation is not tax deductible, however it's for an incredible cause. You can donate money to military families through the wish registry. Next you can post a message of support for the troops. Likewise, you can help spread the word by getting a Heroes at home badge. On their site you can also spread the word by entering a friend's email address. Make this year count for another family by giving through the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry.![]()
