FILIPINA ACTRESS HURT IN ACCIDENT

Filipina actress Joyce Jimenez was badly hurt after she was involved in a car accident Monday morning. Traveling from Baguio to Manila, her car was struck by a truck in Pangasinan. She was taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan. Her legs were badly injured. She also received minor bruises and wounds on her face. Currently her status is stable. British police have made public a stabbing victim’s skull X-ray as they search for two suspects wanted in a horrific bus stop assault last year.

ABS-CBN CONTROVERSY

I am writing regarding an ABS-CBN show that is too graphic for television. As a mother, I want to instill Filipino values in my children who were born and raised here in the US.

They enjoy watching Filipino shows, including the soap operas. So I allow them to. But tonight, I was disturbed by a scene in “Ligaw na Bulaklak,” where Ara Mina was tied up in bed and a man was doing something to her breasts (they only showed the man’s back and Ara Mina’s upper body and face but still no one is stupid not to know what exactly was going on). There was also a flashback where Ara Mina aka Jennifer was being sexually assaulted as a child.

Offensive.

It was too late when I screamed and asked my children to close their eyes. How can this trash be shown on international television? If it appears offensive for a grown up like me, what more for my children?
I am a big fan of ABS-CBN/TFC but there is no way I would tolerate such obscenity on television.

We always look forward to watching TFC at night during the teleserye slots. Now I don’t even know if I should let them watch anything on TFC, with all the rape scenes, kidnapping and violence on its shows.

STATE OF THE ECONOMY

We are definitely in uncertain times economically. The United States is entering a critical period of time that demands solid leadership especially in the arena of the economy. The jobless rate is climbing, the housing market is crashing, huge financial firms are bankrupt and simple money market fund values briefly fell below $1.00. While certain fundamentals do remain in tact, others are falling. Wall Street needs to be bailed out as do large insurance companies. Freddie and Fannie have fallen under their worthless and selfish leadership. This is not a pretty picture as even foreign markets are falling simply because of the financial troubles of this country. The impact on consumers will be tremendous.

In the coming months and years there will be a tremendous population of people that need debt help. There is no doubt about this. When times are good, people have a tendency to throw caution to the wind and go into debt borrowing way beyond their capacity to repay. And the lenders are lax with their underwriting rules which allows unwise people to borrow in an unwise manner. Sports is a humongous part of any child's life. I was involved in sports growing up and on into college, but the most memorable moment in sports for me was a golf event I won. It was particularly important as I was a senior in high school and on my way to college and to have won a conference golf tournament was a badge of honor heading into college where I would compete against those that much better than me. It was that event that pushed me to higher levels of confidence in myself and led to more tournament wins. Although I am not a pro, although I wish I was, I have embedded a video here of my hero. REVENGE OF THE HOT DOG

The discovery of several hot dogs in packages outside Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia brought the bomb squad out and forced the temporary evacuation of the stadium Wednesday evening. According to police, Pattison Street between Darien and 11th Streets was shutdown as officials investigated the discovery of several suspicious packages near a ticket office. The packages were wrapped in duct tape and that's what made the police suspicious. Hot dogs wrapped in duct tape? How dare they! Here's the rest of the story.

OTOT - THE STORY OF JOSE

Here is Jose Cruz. He was stopped by the police because he was driving with no headlights. When the police smelled alcohol, they gave him a sobriety test and.............he failed. Big surprise. Can you spell j-a-i-l? If that wasn't enough, when he was being booked at the police station, he moved closer to an officer and he....otot! As a result, he was also charged with battery!
