ONLINE CHECKS
Merchant Advisors is a unique company from many perspectives. They are the premiere merchant services provider offering credit card processing, business cash advances, business loans, invoice factoring, ACH processing, and check processing. They are particularly competitive in all of these areas but especially in the area of credit card processing. Many merchant companies offer many things when you sign up but none do it like Merchant Advisors. For example, here are some benefits:
- Free Merchant Account - There are no setup fees. Many will offer this but there are conditions that apply - not here.
- No Contract - None at all. How many places do this? Not many - you can cancel at any time.
- Next day Funding - Process a customers credit card transaction today. The money will be in the checking account the next morning. They will not hold your funds in an interest-bearing account for 3-5 business days as many do.
- No Fees - They will not charge you to setup your merchant account. Once again, others will offer this but there are conditions you must meet first - but not with Merchant Advisors.
If you are a business owner and in need of the ability to accept credit card payments, then check out the above link and see for yourself the great offer, the great benefits and the great service you will receive from Merchant Advisors.

FILIPINO TERRORIST ARRESTED
Police have arrested one of the alleged masterminds of a ferry bombing that killed 116 people four years ago, a Philippine anti-terrorism official said Saturday. Lavilla is "the brains" of the Rajah Solaiman Movement, a group of Islamic converts that is allied with two Al Qaeda-linked groups — the regional terror network Jemaah Islamiyah and the Abu Sayyaf, a Muslim extremist group based in the southern Philippines. Nice score for the Philippines. Here's the story.

MONEY, WHERE ARE YOU?

What is your Bills IQ score? Most people don't know and even I have to admit I didn't know ours either. But I do understand that financial health is on the minds of many people these days so knowing your Bills IQ score is very important. The Bills IQ score covers a lot of areas concerning your finances. Knowing how much debt you have, knowing the interest rates on your mortgage, car loan and Credit card debt , having life insurance, having a budget, saving money and many more.....all contribute to a household's financial health.Managing a household's finances and making good financial decisions is not always easy. There are so many day-to-day things that tug at our pocketbooks that sometimes it is hard to know how to budget our money.
empty money tree
I am shaking it all day
nothing seems to work
Many people are even head over heels in debt and often have to seek help. Debt help and Debt relief are two of the ways that help families and individuals get back on their feet financially. Also, Debt consolidation is another ways to get people back on the right track financially. And knowing you current financial situation (to the penny) is the first step. I would highly recommend clicking any of the above links and you will be taken to the Bills IQ test - it only takes less than 10 minutes and you will know your Bills IQ. Ours - is 86% which is a B. The last time I was comfortable with a B was in 9th grade so we have work to do. What is your Bills IQ?

EMAIL SAVES BABY'S LIFE
This precious little girl is Rowan Santos. She has a rare disease that was spotted by someone looking at her picture on the Internet. It was not easy for Madeleine Robb to send an e-mail to another mom warning that her baby might have a deadly form of eye cancer, but she’s glad she did it.
This is an almost unbelievable story - the woman was looking at the picture of the baby on a website and spotted the disease, sent the mother an email to warn her and probably saved the baby's life. Amazing - here's the whole story.

READY OR NOT, HERE I COME.....
A 6-year-old girl playing hide-and-seek with her grandmother found a newborn baby girl abandoned in a vacant lot next to her home. Police estimated the child was born an hour or two before she was discovered. The baby girl was taken to the hospital with a fever but was expected to recover. This story is from the view of the little girl who found the baby but let's look at it from the Mom's point of view. Pregnant, in labor and the pains of child birth....where did she give birth...at home....did she scream so loud and no one heard her? The baby probably cried and so she tried to muffle the loud sounds no doubt. Then she got dressed, went outside with the baby, found a place where no one could see her and she laid down her baby in the bushes and left it there to die. Sounds like attempted murder to me. Here's the story.

OH NO.....NOT AGAIN
This satellite image released by NOAA shows Tropical Storms Gustav and Hanna on Thursday Aug. 28, 2008. Residents, tourists and oil workers fled as Gustav swamped Jamaica on Thursday, leaving 59 people dead in its wake. Tropical Storm Hanna formed in the Atlantic Thursday, northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Many are saying Gustav will hit the States early next week. Just as we pray for the Filipino people being hit by so many horrific storms, we are asking Filipinos to pray for us as well as the storm nears.

NO MORE DEBT
Being debt-free to many is just a pipe dream. With credit card bills, auto loans, mortgages and other debt obligations it seems so far away to even consider being debt free. But there is a website that can help. Bills.com can help you reclaim financial peace of mind by offering to help you consolidate debt. Debt consolidation has many variations, from services like debt management, debt settlement, or credit counseling to debt consolidation loans and mortgage refinance.
Bills.com specializes in helping people all over the country work with creditors to resolve outstanding debts. With their unique service, you can consolidate your debts into one loan. At that point you have everything else paid off and now have only one low payment. As well, often times your interest rate on the debt consolidation loan will be lower so you save not only money, but you save time as well servicing only one loan. This can greatly contribute to less stress and more peace of mind for your life. Taking control of your debt and taking that first step toward being debt free is one of the most important things you can do for your family's financial health. If you find yourself in a situation where you are overwhelmed or beginning to be overwhelmed with your debt, then simply click on the above link and check out Bills.com's program to help solve your debt burdens.

PACQUIAO VS. DE LA HOYA
Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao will square off against Oscar De Le Hoya in a 12-round, non-title fight on December 6 at the MGM Grand Hotel. "This is my greatest challenge," said Pacquiao. "When I take that walk to the ring to fight Oscar, I will carry all the people of the Philippines - the entire country - on my shoulders." Here's another quote about the fight - "De La Hoya is embarrassing himself and the sport he professes to love by refusing to fight the real challengers in his division and picking on a guy who has only once fought above 130 pounds." Money is always an issue with boxers and Pacman and De La Hoya are no different. Excitement is building and I can't wait for December 6.

BACK WITH THE SPROUTWELLS
The Sproutwells are here! They are simply a fruit and veggie family living among human beings. While it's a struggle, they are trying to fit in among us humans. Not only are The Sproutwells entertaining, but they are educational as well. We played this video over and over again for our son and he loved it!
The Sproutwells basically are creating awareness of a proper diet and end up teaching their crotchety old neighbor Rosie. I think she is my favorite character because she shows a nosey curiosity and ends up learning in the process. And speaking of healthy living, freshfunds has much to say on the subject. They say when you buy Chiquita and Fresh Express, you're making a nutritious decision for you and your family. Feel free to click the above video and check out the highlighted links for more information and entertainment from the Sproutwells.

YOUNG FILIPINO TALENT
Filipino ice skating prodigy Ana Isabel "Issai" Villafuerte is set to return home early Thursday morning following her successful stint from recent US figure skating competitions where she bagged eight gold medals. The 5’7” (tall!) Camarines Sur native is the first Philippine-born ice skater to qualify to compete in the US Figure Skating Association (USFSA) sanctioned competitive events. I couldn't find a picture anywhere of her but someone should post it or get it on the internet soon as this is an incredible story of a great young Filipino talent. Here's her story.

WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?
So he can walk on water...big deal. Actually, it's a pretty cool advertisement for his game. Although he won't be golfing for real in the near future, he is still a big deal in the world of sports. He is out for the season but still has an effect on the game. Truly the greatest already.

MERCHANT ADVISORS
Small businesses just starting out are often in need of capital. There are inventory costs, capital equipment costs, hardware and software costs and many other expenses necessary in the beginning. As well, there are seasoned businesses that run into situations where they need additional capital such as slow selling seasons or unexpected events such as computer failures or building improvements and repairs. It's important that businesses have a plan to address these and other situations that may arise. That's where Merchant Advisors comes in.
Merchant Advisors is a business that specializes in helping businesses of all sizes obtain a business cash advance through their merchant services account. In other words, if a business accepts credit card payments then they can borrow against the future merchant earnings in order to get the cash they need in the present. If traditional bank loans are not an option then a business cash advance from Merchant Advisors may be the perfect alternative. No credit check is necessary and qualifying is easy. There is also a section of their website devoted to testimonials of businesses that have used and benefited from their services. Just click on the above link and you will see all the conditions of qualifying as well as other details of their great program. Check them out today!

FILIPINO OLYMPICS INVESTIGATION
Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago yesterday filed Senate Resolution 583, which aims to probe the cause of the country’s medal-dry campaign in the recent Beijing Olympics, a move that is expected to kick off the blame game that traditionally follows poor Philippine performances in big overseas meets. What?? Are they serious?? Let's investigate why the Filipino's did so bad in the Olympics? Unbelievable. The answer is simple and easy to figure out......there are substandard training facilities in the Philippines, improperly funded training of Filipino athletes and of course, the main reason.....pure corruption at the National Sports level (Pagcor). Corruption is the reason Filipinos competed so poorly. Once again.....government is NOT the answer for the Filipino people.

GREAT AMERICAN SEAFOOD COOKOFF
I love a good cook-off and one took place in New Orleans just a few weeks ago. As one of America’s most prestigious culinary competitions, The Great American Seafood cook off took place again this year on August 2nd and 3rd. This is one event I would have loved to attend. And they used American seafood...of course. It's fresh, it's local and the taste is great!
I love seafood as does my husband. Our favorite seafood dish is bangus or milkfish. We simply season it with salt and pepper, stuff it with chopped onions and tomatoes then put it on the grill! The aroma is heavenly!
Back to the competition - congratulations to Mississippi’s Chef John Currence! He beat out 14 other prestigious chefs from across the nation to be crowned King of American Seafood at this years Annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off!! My favorite recipe, though, was from a Colorado chef - Chef Paul Anders and his Striped Bass Panzanella recipe. Just look at the picture above and you will see how beautiful the dish is, the diverse colors and textures and I am certain the taste is great! It looks incredible!
I know a lot of readers here that are huge cooking fans and I would encourage everyone to click the above link which takes you to www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com and see all the great details of this exciting event. You will find not only details of this years winners and recipes but see photos and read details of previous year winners. Also, if you vote on your favorite recipe you will be entered to win a trip to New Orleans! That would be one incredible trip! Enter today!

ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK
Protestors gather inside the compound of Thailand's Government House in Bangkok, Thailand, after breaking through barriers. Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej, whose own offices besieged by thousands of demonstrators, called Tuesday for people to end protests that aimed to topple him from power. "Please go away and let me be your President!!" I have no idea what the protest is about and I have no idea what the issues are - but my hats off to the people in Thailand for making their voices heard in LARGE numbers. Filipinos......hint, hint.

SAVE A LIFE
C'elle is a company that is helping women everywhere. The subject itself may be controversial but at least it is worth reading about and considering and then, formulating an opinion. If you click any of the links in this post, you will read a host of information and learn an incredible amount about stem cells and how they can be used in the prevention and treatment of women's diseases. Not only could it be a disease in the woman, but it could be something hereditary passed along to her children. Diseases like osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease....all can be life threatening not only to the parent, but to the children as well.
C'elle "enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way." This statement proves powerful when you read the above and understand the simple process of collecting and harvesting the cells. Menstrual cells are processed and stored at a very low temperatures for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. It's all About the Science and this branch of science is proving to be more and more powerful all the time and the possibilities, while some may abuse them, are far-reaching. I would encourage every woman to click any of the above links and read the article/press release and even research the company on their website. Also, you will find a C'elle Client Testimonial on their website giving first hand insight into this science. Information like this is always good to have.

FILIPINO ARTIST INSPIRES
A child paints using coffee powder mixed with water during an art session by Filipino artist Sunshine Plata in Pasig city. Plata started painting with coffee in 2000, and her works have been exhibited locally and in the Ripley's Museum in New York City. Her paintings sell for $895. This is such a unique and wonderful story. I had not heard of painting by using coffee powder but as you can see in the above picture, it really is beautiful. This Filipino artist should be spotlighted in larger circles. She commands a very respectable price for her work. Mabuhay!!

HERE'S HILLARY!!
Ladies and gentlemen, Hillary Clinton! Tonight is her night to speak and look for it to be a great speech. Her husband will never quit being the antagonist, being the bad guy, giving Obama a hard time.....but Hillary will use class and tact tonight and give a rousing speech exhorting the Democrats to unity. She will let her supporters and her husband do the dirty work of reminding everyone she has more popular votes than Obama but she will be her dignified self.......I would still never vote for her.

THE NEXT TIGER WOODS.....OF BASEBALL

This is the next Tiger Woods - only in baseball. Meet 9- year-old Jericho Scott. The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the Youth Baseball League of New Haven told his coach that the boy could not pitch any more. When Jericho took the mound anyway last week, the opposing team forfeited the game, packed its gear and left, his coach said. Bad move....teaching kids to not even try?? Sports Tip 101 - ALWAYS practice or play against people BETTER than you. Ask any athlete. We will soon hear that little Jericho is competing against players 4 or 5, even 6 or 7 years older than he. Here's his great story.

BILLS, BILLS, BILLS
What is your Bills IQ score? Most people don't know and even I have to admit I didn't know ours either. But I do understand that financial health is on the minds of many people these days so knowing your Bills IQ score is very important. The Bills IQ score covers a lot of areas concerning your finances. Knowing how much debt you have, knowing the interest rates on your mortgage, car loan and Credit card debt, having life insurance, having a budget, saving money and many more.....all contribute to a household's financial health.
Managing a household's finances and making good financial decisions is not always easy. There are so many day-to-day things that tug at our pocketbooks that sometimes it is hard to know how to budget our money.

A TRUSTED TOUR OF NEW YORK

Metropolitan museum of art - can you guess which city? We have been there once and we can't wait to go back. NEW YORK! There are simply tons of things to do in New York. Too many to discuss here but I'll mention a few. How about seeing the Statue of Liberty for starters? The Brooklyn Bridge is another fantastic site to see. When we were there, I made a point to have a destination where I could instruct the taxi driver to go across this wondrous bridge. Also, we visited Wall Street, although they wouldn't let us in (I just wanted to make a trade!) and also went into Central Park which can get scary towards evening. All in all it was a great adventure and as stated earlier, we are anxious to go back.
Trusted Tours & Attractions is a company that can put together a vacation package that will take you to cities like New York or if you are interested in learning about Las Vegas tours, they are the company to help. If you click on any of the links in this post, you will find online travel guides to virtually any city you are interested in. And right now if you sign up for their newsletter, you will be entered for a chance to win a $150 Magellan’s Gift Certificate - offer ends August 31st, 2008. Nice. If you are planning a trip in the near future, then please check out Trusted Tours & Attractions. They are a one stop shop for all your vacation planning needs.

BUSY, BUSY PIRATES
A Malaysian tanker carrying palm oil has been seized by pirates off the Somali coast -- the fourth ship to be hijacked in the Gulf of Aden in a month. The tanker was carrying several Filipino sailors and Malaysian crew members on board and was hijacked late Tuesday. Somali pirates - nothing better to do? Here's the story.

AM I NUTS?
This is probably a question you have asked yourself......more than once! Maybe you have a few quirks that others have told you are not normal or they say, Are you nuts?" No matter the case, there is an excellent article in Reader's Digest entitled, "Normal or Nuts?" Good question - Are You Normal or Nuts? Some of the quirks they mention in the article are actually everyday things that you and I probably have dealt with at one time or another. I will mention a few:
- I don't like talking on my cell phone in public. Actually I am the same way only because when I hear people talking on their cell phones loud so others can hear I immediately think they are just show-boating rather than having a genuine conversation.
- I use things until they wear out. Oops, that's me as well. I know people who have closets full of barely used shoes and clothes and think what a horrendous waste(r) of money. I am just the opposite. Use it until you can't anymore.
These are just a couple but I would encourage you to ask yourself, Are You Normal or Nuts? Just click any of the above links and take the test for yourself and find out what others say about your quirks!
Reader's Digest has many useful articles like the one referenced above. But there is a humorous aspect to their online magazine and I love reading the Reader's Digest Laughs section. Check out the referenced links here and you will see for yourself the "loopy" side of this great magazine.
